Our frontend is a single-page TypeScript web app, primarily built with React, and our mobile app is developed using React Native. We're committed to staying at the forefront of web technology, utilizing tools like Vite, Vitest, React Testing Library, Playwright, and Chromatic (VRT) to ensure our application is performant, maintainable, and thoroughly tested.
About the Role: Joining a Cross-Functional Product Development Team
As a Senior Frontend Software Engineer at Close, you'll be an integral part of one of our six cross-functional product development teams, working collaboratively with other frontend and backend engineers, product managers, designers, and various teams across the organization. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to exciting projects, such as:
- Designing, building, and launching new user-facing features that delight our customers
- Implementing AI-powered features to streamline our customers' daily tasks
- Enhancing our calling and SMS features using Twilio's API, WebSockets, and WebRTC
- Developing user-facing analytics features that provide actionable insights based on sales activity data
- Improving our web app with real-time updates powered by GraphQL Subscriptions
- Leveraging the latest AI LLMs from providers like OpenAI, Groq, and AssemblyAI to drive innovation
- Expanding our frontend GraphQL usage and extending our React component library
About You: A Seasoned Frontend Software Engineer with a Passion for Excellence
We're looking for an experienced full-time Frontend Software Engineer with a solid understanding of web technologies and a passion for designing, implementing, and launching major user-facing features. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a small, talented team, where you'll be supported in your efforts to grow professionally.
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- 5+ years of experience building modern frontend single-page applications in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, with at least 3 years of experience using React (Senior 1 & 2 level candidates)
- 8+ years of experience (Staff level candidates)
- ~3 years of similar experience and a strong desire to level up with the right opportunity (Mid-level candidates)
- Significant experience designing, debugging, and optimizing frontend applications to ensure they are fast and reliable
- A thorough understanding of REST APIs and HTTP requests
- Experience participating in code reviews and providing code quality suggestions to maintain the structure and quality of our codebase
- Great product sense and the ability to think through user experience issues before diving into code
- A love for great UI and a commitment to craftsmanship in the code and systems you produce
- Location in the USA (lower 48 timezones)

- Leading small project teams and building and launching features
