Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our Item Execution and Instrumentation Group. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and building large-scale data systems, data pipelines, and data products that drive business value across our brands and digital experiences. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data solutions that meet the needs of our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy large-scale data systems, data pipelines, and data products using Scala, Python, and Flash.
- Collaborate with data product managers, data architects, and data engineers to design, implement, and deliver effective data solutions.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation of your work and changes to support data quality and data governance.
- Ensure high operational efficiency and quality of your solutions to meet SLAs and support our clients (Data Science, Data Analytics teams).
- Participate in agile/scrum practices to ensure continuous improvement and iteration for your team.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, and identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
- Engage with and understand our clients, forming relationships that enable us to understand and prioritize both innovative new contributions and steady platform upgrades.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Strong algorithmic problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in SQL and ability to write queries to extract data and build performant datasets.
- Experience with distributed systems, such as Flash and PySpark, to query and process data.
- Strong programming skills in Scala and/or Python.
- Experience with cloud technologies, such as AWS (S3, EMR, EC2).
- Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
- Familiarity with data integration toolsets (e.g., Windstream) and writing and maintaining data pipelines with Databricks.
- Experience in data modeling techniques and data warehousing standard approaches and practices.
- Familiarity with Scrum and Agile methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with others and build consensus in a cross-functional team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Lakehouse architecture and data lake management.
- Familiarity with data governance and data quality best practices.
- Experience with data visualization tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts.
