Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Long Term Substitute Language Arts Teacher to join our team from November 29, 2023, to March 5, 2024. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering Language Arts instruction to middle school students, managing classroom environments, and contributing to the overall educational mission of our school. This is a remote opportunity within the Kildeer, IL area.

Key Responsibilities

• Instruction and Assessment:
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with State and District standards in Language Arts.
  • Assess student progress towards targets and standards, providing timely feedback to students, parents, and administration.
  • Design and administer assessments to evaluate student competency and inform instruction.
• Classroom Management:
  • Manage student behavior and classroom procedures to ensure a safe and optimal learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of student progress.
• Collaboration and Communication:
  • Communicate clearly and accurately with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with instructional staff and other school personnel to achieve classroom objectives and support the school improvement plan.
• Professional Responsibilities:
  • Reflect on teaching practices to enhance student achievement.
  • Respond to emergency situations and report incidents as necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the efficient functioning of the school.

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

• Must be endorsed in Language Arts.
• Ability to develop and deliver engaging lesson plans.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage classroom environments effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Multiple endorsements or certifications.
• Experience in teaching or substituting at the middle school level.
