About the Job
In this role, you will be at the forefront of cross-team collaboration, serving as the go-to expert for bookkeeping partners in the data and engineering spaces, creating a unique blend of liabilities. Your days will be filled with assessing data using SQL and Python, conducting in-depth data analysis and interpretation, designing complex drawings and flows, and contributing to critical bookkeeping research and design requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Work cross-functionally with Technical Accounting, Functional Accounting, Engineering, Product, Finance, Tax, Legal, and other stakeholders on policies, processes, and projects, and help drive key framework initiatives and improvements
- Develop and design comprehensive bookkeeping data requirements to facilitate the seamless automation of journal entries, ensuring accuracy, completeness, compliance, and efficiency in financial cycles
- Lead functional improvement initiatives to further streamline revenue tasks and shorten the revenue close schedule
- Monitor data quality of journal entries generated via the Revenue Subledger and design Data Quality checks for identified use cases through bookkeeping requirements design, ad-hoc investigations, new product launches, etc.
- Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams to continuously improve our daily Revenue Reconciliation process and manage reconciliation analysis with the help of the analytics team
- Review new product designs presented during internal Financial Compliance meetings and evaluate the impact on existing or need for new bookkeeping requirements for the Revenue Subledger
- Cross-collaborate with collaborating teams on the journal entry streams for new or existing products for automation via the Revenue Subledger
- Perform monthly revenue accounting close responsibilities, including but not limited to: GAAP revenue analysis, cost of revenue analysis, accounts receivable reconciliations, review journal entries, and review close package expectations
- Ad-hoc investigations and projects as assigned
About You
We are excited about you because you have:
- 3+ years of experience in revenue accounting, data analysis, or business intelligence
- Solid knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606 Revenue Recognition required; knowledge of IFRS a plus
- Intermediate/advanced SQL skills and ability to work with large volumes of transactional data, Python a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing environments
- Ability to engage with all levels of management and cross-functional teams, both internally and externally
Essential Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, including US GAAP and revenue recognition
- Experience with data analysis and interpretation, including the use of SQL and Python
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and identify trends and insights
Preferred Qualifications:
While not required, the following preferred qualifications will make you a stronger candidate:
- Experience with data engineering and bookkeeping domains
- Knowledge of IFRS and other accounting standards
- Experience with automation tools and technologies, such as robotic process automation (RPA)
- Certifications in accounting or data analysis, such as CPA or CFA
