About the position Responsibilities • Manages and provides input into a comprehensive communications strategy to reinforce image and reputation with students, colleagues, and alumni. • Provides internal communications counsel and oversight of institutional communications to ensure consistency of messaging and alignment with defined business objectives. • Develops communication plans and deploys messaging to Walden colleagues. • Supports high-profile, high-sensitivity communications for institutional senior leadership as needed. • Maintains quality standards for all internal publications and communications. • Identify and develop opportunities for content generation. • Conducts ongoing and annual assessments of communications effectiveness at the institution level as it relates to brand reputation, awareness and achieving communications goals. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations or related field. • Minimum 10+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, strategic planning, branding or related field. • Demonstrated experience leading and developing in-house internal communications, PR agency experience in addition a plus. • Experience working with various levels of management. • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences and constituencies. • Strategic thinker with experience formulating multi-faceted communications plans, recommending optimal channel usage, timing and cadence of communications and gaining buy-in from functional area leads and project stakeholders. • Mastery of communications in an educational environment (or similar) and using communication to influence change within an organization. • Expertise in managing multiple initiatives simultaneously; ability to collaborate with a variety of colleagues across Adtalem and its institutions. • Must possess exceptional business writing, editing, training, communication, organizational and presentation skills.
