Powered by America’s youth, we host a media outlet, produce educational materials and facilitate dialogue intended to make America a better country.Job Description: The Public Relations Team Lead will contribute to ONC’s mission of providing nonpartisan news, opinions, and policy solutions by leading a team of 4-5 public relations interns and ensuring ONC’s brand voice is carried out throughout all materials. The Public Relations Team Lead will delegate tasks to interns within the department, assigning responsibilities based on their strengths and expertise. They will provide guidance and support to interns, ensuring they have the necessary resources and assistance to excel in their roles. The Public Relations Team Lead will actively coach interns, fostering their professional development and helping them navigate their responsibilities within the department. This team lead will spearhead our college newspaper network not limited to, but including networking, managing the contact list, connecting members of the network to various teams throughout our department for collaboration such as the podcast or journalism team. The Public Relations Team Lead may also partner with the Director of Marketing, COO and CEO to help with the creation and distribution of press releases. They may also brainstorm and create concepts for marketing our organization.This position is remote, with work primarily conducted over Zoom and Slack, so applicants must be comfortable coordinating in a remote environment and are expected to maintain a high level of communication. The duration of this internship can be as short as a semester or as long as a year or more and can be extended. Preferably, this leader will commit to 6 months.Compensation: This is not a paid position.Benefits: Flexible schedule, college credit, professional networking, and resume-building experience.Responsibilities:Oversee the Public Relations Team at ONC.Delegate tasks to interns based on their strengths and expertise.Provide guidance and support to interns.Oversee and manage our college newspaper networkPartner with the Director of Marketing, COO and CEO to create and distribute press releases.Understand key audiences and brainstorm marketing techniques and strategies to drive engagement and/or partnerships.Effectively communicate with other ONC team members (Slack, email, Zoom).QualificationsRequirements: The Public Relations Team Lead should have the following skills, education, and experience:This role would be particularly good for those working towards a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Media Studies, and/or related fieldsResponsive, consistent, and effective communicator, even during conflictA self-starter who is willing to take initiative and complete tasksAbility to work remotely and on their own schedule in order to make deadlinesGoogle Workspace experience preferredAbility to attend the weekly Organization-Wide meetingsAbility to attend weekly Marketing department meetingsMust be authorized to intern in the U.S.Additional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
