The Role: UX Design Project Manager
As a UX Design Project Manager, you'll be responsible for rejuvenating our UX practice by collaborating with Design Leaders and Lead Program Directors. Your primary focus will be on creating efficient processes and measures that drive great results, enabling UX practitioners to focus on creating meaningful outcomes, while leaders drive business results. You'll work on establishing process and structure for the UX team in three key areas:
- Business operations, such as creating management reports, standardizing processes, and prioritizing workloads
- Team operations, including communication, collaboration, and tools management
- People operations, such as measuring success factors, planning professional development, and growing our team culture
You'll leverage client-focused and design-thinking processes to solve problems, drive business results, and create a structure that enhances our daily workflow. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact and drive UX excellence in a dynamic and evolving retail industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of UX leaders, product designers, content creators, engineers, product managers, accessibility experts, data analysts, and UX researchers
- Partner with Design Program Directors to define portfolio and information management processes, prioritize initiatives, and enable efficiency across UX projects
- Develop and implement commitment, working, and governance processes, including the intake, review, and assessment of new projects
- Increase transparency and visibility for design delivery and results across multiple projects, tracking the impact of our work and identifying opportunities for continued improvement
- Collaborate with Design Leaders to define goals and desired outcomes with product, engineering, and business stakeholders
- Leverage data and insights to identify critical gaps and risks in specific areas of work
- Create a structure that enhances our daily workflow, increasing creator engagement, reducing duplicated efforts, and improving the way we work
- Develop and maintain documentation on processes and templates required to operationalize UX and enhance the value of design across the organization
- Work with various teams across the organization to ensure a robust operations system
About You: Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Project Management expertise with in-house design teams or design agencies
- A degree, bootcamp, or industry portfolio showcasing project management or design projects work
- Working knowledge and understanding of end-to-end digital products and services, supporting and meeting project milestones and outcomes, on-time and on-budget delivery
- Understanding of UX design processes and best practices, collaborating with design, research, product, and development teams
- Working knowledge of current product development methodologies like Agile and Scrum
- Experience tracking and managing design initiatives or programs using project management tools
- Strong communication skills, articulating stories with clarity, simplicity, and data
- Ability to work hybrid in Minneapolis or work remotely on Central or Eastern Standard Time
