Responsibilities
• Develops graphics and layouts for plans.
• Performs research and data analysis for planning projects.
• Develop renderings and design proposals for plans.
• Contribute and collaborate as a member of an interdisciplinary team of planners, landscape architects, and engineers.
• Attend meetings and public engagement events as needed, to include off-hours and out-of-area meetings as needed to support clients and projects.
• Assists in developing planning studies and reports.
Requirements
• A master's degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Public Administration, Geography/GIS, or a related field, with 2+ years of experience.
• Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in any of these fields, with 4+ years of experience as a full-time planner.
• Knowledge of urban design programs such as SketchUp, Lumion, Rhino, Urban Footprint, or other design programs.
• Additional preference for those applicants with demonstrated urban design or rendering work.
• Knowledge of Adobe InDesign and/or related programs.
• Additional preference for those applicants with demonstrated document design or layout work.
• Ability to analyze data and create maps using ArcGIS Pro and/or ArcGIS Online.
• Oral communication and interpersonal skills to explain rules and procedures clearly to the public.
• Creative problem-solving skills.
• Ability to gather relevant information to solve practical problems.
• Ability to facilitate in-person and virtual public participation activities.
• Understanding of how to access, utilize, and analyze U.S. Census data.
