Join our team at HealthCorps, a national non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of youth through innovative health education and leadership development programs. We are seeking a motivated and passionate individual to serve as a Teen Health Education Intern in Southern Oklahoma, where you will empower teens to become change agents in their communities and promote healthy lifestyles. About the Role: As a Teen Health Education Intern, you will implement our Teens Make Health Happen (TMHH) program in 1-3 middle or high schools in the Southern Oklahoma region. You will serve as a near-peer mentor, leading health and wellness clubs, and supporting teens in planning and executing wellness initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in public health, education, and community development, while making a positive impact on the lives of local youth. Responsibilities: Develop and maintain strong relationships with teen wellness leaders, site partners, and regional program managers to ensure effective delivery of HealthCorps' programming Assess the health needs of assigned schools and measure program impact through needs assessments, reporting, and tracking Plan and implement TMHH clubs, hosting Café O Yea demonstrations, and supporting regional events Contribute to HealthCorps' social media platforms, sharing program highlights, stories of impact, and photos Prioritize health and wellness daily, ensuring accessible resources for students and staff at assigned sites Represent HealthCorps in the community, embodying our values and mission Requirements: Current undergraduate or graduate student in a related field (public health, education, psychology, etc.) Good academic standing and a commitment to personal and professional growth Ability to dedicate 6-8+ hours per week to the mentorship for 1-2 semesters Strong communication and leadership skills, with a passion for working with teens and promoting health education What You'll Gain: College credit or practicum hours, depending on university requirements Ongoing training, professional development, and mentorship A stipend to support program-related expenses Opportunities for networking and community engagement About HealthCorps: We are an equal opportunity employer, committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
