They are seeking a motivated Social Media Assistant to join their Communications team, responsible for cultivating community partnerships and creating engaging content to communicate their mission and values to diverse stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and edit content that highlights patient and staff experiences
- Create newsletters, social media posts, and written materials, and assist with managing the editorial calendar
- Help produce and distribute internal updates
- Manage and update content on the health center’s website and other digital platforms
- Act as a key contact for community partners and advocacy groups, gathering materials and tracking public presence opportunities (e.g., Pride events, health fairs)
- Track and analyze the performance of content and communication initiatives, utilizing KPIs and audience feedback to refine strategies
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Creative Writing, Marketing, or related fields
- 1-2 years of experience in communications, writing, or content development, preferably in a healthcare or nonprofit setting
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to conduct interviews and build relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Proficiency in digital communications, including website content management systems and email platforms
- Creative thinker with the ability to generate new ideas and approaches to storytelling and content creation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Mailchimp, WordPress and working knowledge of HTML/CSS
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign and Canva is a plus
- Knowledge or experience in healthcare, particularly sexual health, health education, as well as LGBTQ+ and HIV related issues is encouraged
- Experience serving diverse populations preferred
