Key Responsibilities
- Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting services for a variety of clients, including financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, and tax returns.
- Handle tasks such as payroll processing, sales tax (Transaction Privilege Tax) preparation, 1099 preparation, and Workers' Compensation/Insurance audits.
- Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain financial data integrity and perform regular checks to ensure compliance and correctness.
- Utilize accounting software, including QuickBooks, and other tools to efficiently manage client data and perform tasks.
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and management through written and verbal reports, emails, and phone calls.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Proven accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting firm or industry.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and Client Relationship Manager (CRM) software.
- The ability to quickly learn new accounting software and systems.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- A high level of honesty, integrity, dependability, and critical thinking.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
While not required, business tax preparation experience is a plus, and having a CPA certification is preferred.
