Registered Nurse (RN)-WI Regional Float-Women and Infants

About the position The Registered Nurse (RN)-Regional Float position is a vital role within the Women and Infants Flex Team at HSHS St. Vincent Hospital. This full-time position requires the RN to float across multiple ministries and units within the state of Wisconsin, specifically at St. Nicholas Hospital and St. Vincent Hospital. The RN will work a schedule of 36 hours per week, primarily during the night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM, and will be expected to work every third weekend. This role is designed for nurses who are adaptable and capable of providing care in various specialty areas based on their competency levels. The RN will be responsible for promoting and restoring patients' health by completing the nursing process, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, and providing both physical and psychological support to patients and their families. Additionally, the RN will supervise assigned team members and ensure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards and measuring health outcomes against patient care goals. The position also requires the RN to complete necessary competency and cross-training to float to designated units, which may include assignments to units with lower patient acuity based on the organization's needs. Responsibilities • Float to various ministries and units across the region based on competency level. , • Complete appropriate competency and cross-training required to float to designated units. , • Promote and restore patients' health by completing the nursing process. , • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members. , • Provide physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families. , • Supervise assigned team members. , • Ensure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards and measuring health outcomes against patient care goals. , • Make or recommend necessary adjustments to care based on patient needs and standards. , • Follow nursing philosophies and standards of care set by governing regulations. Requirements • Graduate from an accredited and approved school of nursing accepted for licensure in the state of practice is required. , • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice is required. , • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. , • 1 year of relevant clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in a specialty area is preferred. , • Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred. , • Certification in area of specialty is preferred but may be required to float. Nice-to-haves • Experience in a float nursing role is a plus. , • Additional certifications in specialty areas are beneficial.
