Schedule will be set with your supervisor. PURPOSE: The CILA Program Registered Nurse (RNT) position provides nursing care to residents in the community integration living arrangement program (CILA) program. This position is also responsible for training staff in medication administration and management of resident’s overall well-being. Works in partnership with CILA team to ensure the physical and mental health of all resident’s are appropriately managed. This position will be trained in accordance with Illinois State Rule 116 and must be certified as an Illinois State Registered Nurse Trainer. This is a highly autonomous position that has very diverse responsibilities. The CILA Nurse RN will work with and under the supervision of the Director of CILA Operations for Caritas Family Solutions. REPORTING STRUCTURE: Refer to the updated organizational chart for reporting structure and responsibilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Monitors and oversees administration of medication by authorized staff in compliance with RULE 116. • Trains new and existing staff in medication administration and management of residents’ overall well-being. • Responsible for disciplinary action regarding Medication Administrations with ADSPs. • Responsible for communication with physicians and pharmacies for all residents. • Responsible for client digital medical files and medication tracking and entry. • Tracks medical-related training and education of staff regarding residents’ care and manages data related to refreshers, expiration and new topics introduced to staff. • Administers medications to residents as needed according to DHS Rule 116. • Actively involved in CILA Management team meetings, supports admissions, intake, and client transitions. • Creating on-call schedule with other RNTs so 24-hour coverage is provided to all CILA homes. • Tracks medication errors to create monthly medication error and trend reports which are submitted to the Quality Department, The CILA Director, and CILA supervisors. • Works with the CILA Director to ensure nursing policies and procedures align with Rule 115 and 116. • Ensures all recordkeeping and/or required documentation is accurate and up to date. • Responsible for physical nursing assessments, medical reviews, medication audits, and quarterly quality assessment reports as a part of risk management.
