About the position The Registered Nurse position within the Central Staffing Resources (Pediatric Critical Care Cluster) at Michigan Medicine involves providing nursing care to pediatric patients in various critical care units, including the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Pediatric Cardio-Thoracic Unit (PCTU), and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The role requires collaboration with healthcare teams to deliver family-centered care and manage complex medical needs, ensuring high standards of patient care in a Magnet recognized hospital. Responsibilities Provide safe nursing care to pediatric patients from infancy to young adulthood. , Float among the Pediatric Critical Care units, including PICU, PCTU, NICU, and 11W Moderate Care. , Administer specialized intravenous (IV) medication drips and dosages. , Monitor patients requiring ventilatory support and hemodynamic monitoring. , Collaborate with healthcare team members to meet the complex care requirements of pediatric patients. Requirements Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan. , Two years of recent Pediatric ICU RN experience. , Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification (PALS). Nice-to-haves BSN preferred. , Recent experience in Pediatric or Neonatal Critical Care. , Experience as a float RN in a Pediatric ICU hospital setting. , NRP Certification. , Knowledge of the University of Michigan Health System's nursing policies and practice. , Demonstrated team player skills. , Positive communication skills. , Experience with family-centered care philosophy. , Initiative in seeking professional growth. , Demonstrated excellence in communication skills, both verbal and written. , Ability to delegate work to assistive personnel.
