Position Description Position Title: OHIO HEALTHY PROGRAMS APPLICATION REVIEWER Accountable To: Director of the Office for Quality and Innovation, OCCRRA FSLA Status: Part-time, Temporary, Remote Position Date Revised: August 7, 2025 JOB SUMMARY: Review statewide child care programs’ online Ohio Healthy Programs (OHP) applications determining if an application meets the necessary nutrition, health, and program requirements to be designated an Ohio Healthy Program. Communicate and provide consultation (electronically, phone) to child care program staff on application steps and requirements needed to apply and to rectify findings. Make decisions on application status based on OHP designation requirements. SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: · Review child care programs’ online application in the Ohio Professional Registry Application Management System. Take the necessary online action to approve, return applications for findings, or deny applications. · Identify findings that do not meet the designation requirements. Requirements and findings include, but not limited to, menus/nutrition, Healthy Message policy, OHP training attendance, healthy family engagement, Ohio Physical Activity and Nutrition Assessment (OH-PANA), and success story. · Provide consultation (in online app, email, phone) to child care program staff to rectify the application’s findings, explain the OHP designation requirements and process, and share rationale. · Keep current in USDA and AAP guidelines and best practices on nutrition, physical activity, and screen time, etc. for children birth to eight years of age; communicate information to Director of the Office of Professional Development. · Provide input and update OHP messages, user guides, resources, and requirements. · Track trends in designation findings. Provide ideas for resolution. · Update OHP Application Designation Protocol as needed. · Communicate with Director of the Office for Professional Development. · Additional duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: · Registered Dietician Nutritionist (RDNs) · Bachelor’s degree in dietetics or a related field · A minimum of one-year experience providing consultation or education to adults. · Excellent communication skills with diverse customers and stakeholders. CONDITIONS OF WORK: · Part-time, Temporary · Work location-Remote · Flexible hours, up to 10 hours a week WORK ENVIRONMENT: Contractor needs manual dexterity to operate a computer. There is a need of clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities to discern verbal instructions and to communicate effectively with others and visual acuity to comprehend written work instructions and review, evaluate, and prepare a variety of written materials and documents.
