Job Summary The Nurse Tech position provides nursing students an opportunity to assist licensed nursing personnel in the implementation of day-to-day patient care as well as the routine operations of the nursing unit which assigned. The Nurse Tech provides care to the patients appropriate to the assigned unit. Job Requirements Minimum Education High school or equivalent Completion of first semester of nursing school and in good standing with a nursing program Minimum Work Experience No previous work experience Required Licenses/Certifications CPR-BCLS Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities A Nurse Technician must be a nursing student currently enrolled in and in good standing with nursing program. Nurse Technicians are required to work 48 hours per month. Nurse Techs may continue to work in position after graduation of nursing school until they take their NCLEX. This will be reevaluated based on need by unit leadership. Nurse Techs may remain in the Nurse Tech role if they are unsuccessful passing the NCLEX on their first attempt. After a second unsuccessful attempt, the Nurse Tech position would be terminated. Input data in computer and programs. Maintain professional appearance at all times.
