Jr Telecom Project Manager – Long Haul OSP Implementation
Pay: $38–$44 per hour (W2)
Type: 6-Month Contract (Potential for Extension)
Location: Remote in Most US Markets, working East Coast hours
We’re seeking a highly detailed, organized Jr Telecom Project Manager to oversee the complete lifecycle of a long-haul, underground fiber implementation project. This is a data-driven, reporting-focused role requiring strong project ownership from cradle to grave, advanced MS Excel skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders without direct staff management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage one long-haul OSP construction project from initiation to closeout.
• Produce daily and weekly reports; present project updates in Tuesday internal meetings and Wednesday executive reviews.
• Oversee and drive performance of vendors and contractors, ensuring deliverables are met.
• Conduct calls with general contractors for status updates.
• Update and maintain project decks and documentation.
• Validate engineering drawings and coordinate with legal for contract matters.
• Manage contracts, budgets, schedules, and compliance with permitting/regulatory requirements (NEPA, CPUC, Tribal Lands, etc.).
• Plan, track, and manage major materials from order to deployment.
• Ensure timely delivery of as-built documentation for inventory systems.
• Review and reconcile invoices against project progress.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years in telecommunications with OSP/fiber optics and project management expertise.
• 5+ years of contract and capital management experience, ideally with long-haul OSP projects.
• Strong knowledge of outside plant construction standards, fiber specs, and optical network design.
• Skilled in contract negotiation, compliance, and change order management.
• Ability to interpret construction documents and manage large-scale capital projects.
• Familiarity with NTIA or similar program requirements (Davis-Bacon, BABA, EA) is a plus.
• Advanced MS Excel proficiency required; experience with Site Tracker or similar project management tools preferred.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
