Expert-Level | Part-Time | Remote (US Only)
We are seeking an experienced Federal Contracting & Procurement Specialist to support our organization in preparing for a large upcoming federal opportunity for a US Federal Department contract. This role is ideal for someone who has:
• Extensive experience navigating federal acquisitions,
• Hands-on familiarity with BPA, IDIQ, MAS, and open-market competitive procurements,
• A track record supporting businesses through pre-solicitation, market research, proposal development, and compliance.
We are looking for a trusted advisor who can help us ensure our internal approach, documentation, and processes align with federal expectations and who can guide us through the key steps of preparing a competitive, compliant proposal package.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Review government-issued documents (SOO/SOW, RFIs, Sources Sought, evaluation criteria, etc.) and provide expert interpretation.
• Advise on the most strategic acquisition pathway and compliance needs
• Assist with shaping proposal structure: technical approach, management plan, staffing, past performance, pricing rationale, and compliance matrix.
• Provide guidance on documentation requirements such as org charts, key personnel qualifications, QA plans, risk management frameworks, and reporting structures.
• Help identify potential gaps in capabilities or documentation and propose mitigation strategies.
• Ensure our response aligns with federal procurement standards, plain-language style, and proper formatting.
• Support us with stakeholder mapping and building the connections for securing this contract.
• Proven experience managing contracts through GSA/GSA Prime.
REQUIREMENTS
• US-based (citizenship or permanent residency required).
• Minimum 5+ years experience in federal contracting, procurement, or acquisition strategy.
• Strong understanding of FAR, government evaluation processes, and common contract vehicles.
• Experience supporting large-scale federal bids for training, technology, staffing, or professional services.
• Ability to translate government requirements into clear, actionable internal guidance.
• Strong writing and compliance skills; experience crafting or reviewing federal proposals is a major plus.
• High attention to detail and comfort working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Prior experience supporting small businesses or organizations new to federal contracting.
• Experience advising on cost structures, BPA pricing strategies, or service-based proposals.
ENGAGEMENT DETAILS
• Estimated 10-20 hours over a 2-3 week period, with potential extension depending on scope.
• Work will be remote, flexible, and asynchronous with occasional check-ins, be ready to jump on calls that help us move quickly through the entire process.
