Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in the absence of their regular teacher
- Manage classroom environments to ensure a productive and respectful learning atmosphere
- Adapt to different teaching assignments and curriculum requirements
- Communicate effectively with school staff, administrators, and parents
- Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your designated Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback and develop your teaching skills
- Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your teaching practices
Essential Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
- Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor
- NJ Substitute Credential
- Background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this)
- Full COVID-19 vaccination
- A passion for education and putting students first
- An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Substitute Teacher or in a related educational role
- Special education experience or certification
- Subject-specific teaching certifications (e.g., Math, Science, English)
- Experience working with diverse student populations and age groups (Kinder, Early Years, Elementary, Middle, High School)

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

- Earn up to $190 for day-to-day assignments, and more for long-term assignments
- Weekly pay
