Job Summary
We're looking for an experienced Science Instructor to provide instruction in science-related subjects, from Elementary School Science to High School AP Level Science. As a Science Instructor, you'll be responsible for creating lesson plans, facilitating classroom discussions, evaluating student performance, and promoting a positive learning environment. You'll collaborate with our Directors of Curriculum Development to develop curriculum and lesson plans, as well as provide academic support to students.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Director of Curriculum Development to develop lesson plans and curricula as needed.
- Prepare students for science competitions and assessments.
- Assess students' needs and provide extra support in areas where they're struggling.
- Provide homework help and guidance as needed.
- Lead a classroom of students effectively, using good classroom management skills.
- Work efficiently with students, parents, and colleagues to achieve academic goals.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful as a Science Instructor at Master Prep Academy, you'll need:
Essential Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Science instructor or tutor.
- Professional communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Proven experience assisting students with essay review and feedback.
- Competence in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Enthusiasm for working with students and parents.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Science or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Knowledge of science competitions and assessments.
- Familiarity with AP Science content and tests.
- Teaching certification or license.
