About the Role We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team on Unit 4900 Medical Surgical at NYU Langone Hospital - Brooklyn. As a Registered Nurse on this unit, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, providing high-quality care and making a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and their families. Job Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct patient care, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans. You will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure seamless care delivery and excellent patient outcomes. Some of the key responsibilities of this role include: Performing patient assessments, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and evaluating patient outcomes Administering medications, performing procedures, and providing wound care as needed Communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care delivery Documenting patient information accurately and timely, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes Participating in quality improvement initiatives and contributing to a culture of safety and excellence Providing education and support to patients and families to promote health and wellness Collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must have: A current Registered Nurse license in the state of New York A Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from an accredited nursing program At least one year of recent medical-surgical clinical experience Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Preferred Qualifications While not required, we prefer candidates with: A Master of Science in Nursing degree or higher Experience working in a high-volume medical-surgical unit Knowledge of electronic medical records and other healthcare technology Experience with quality improvement initiatives and patient safety protocols Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you will need to possess: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and practices Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively Strong attention to detail and accuracy Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At NYU Langone Health, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our staff.
