About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Regional Chief Pilot to lead our Flight Operations team at our crew bases in JFK, LGA, and CVG. As a Regional Chief Pilot, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our Flight Operations team, leading our Base Management teams, and ensuring Pilot competence and qualification with regards to safety, regulatory, and communication requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and direct activities at crew bases to achieve Flight Plan Goals
- Work collaboratively with others to ensure consistency and best practices are followed
- Establish and account for Flight Operations base goals, initiatives, and operational performance metrics
- Build positive relationships within the department and across the organization
- Establish and evaluate standards of performance and appearance for the flight operations department
- Conduct special projects as required
- Participate in the SMS program as established by the Director, Safety and Compliance
- Participate as a member of the Flight Standards review board
- Work with the management team to ensure Pilots comply with Company Policy and FARs
- Directly supervise assigned Flight Operations Base Managers and participate in hiring and promoting decisions
- Review potential discipline and/or termination cases for pilots
- Participate in grievance hearings, mediation, and arbitrations
- Responsible for base budgets and management staffing (forecasting and maintenance)
- Establish, support, and maintain agreements between the Union and the Company through effective communication and interaction with union representatives
- Establish guidelines and performance development policies for Flight Ops
- Conduct and participate in base meetings, departmental staff meetings, and Pilot meetings
- Conduct Base Manager Performance reviews, coaching, and development
- Review, trend operational performance for Flt Ops, and implement process improvements
- Promote and maintain employee morale and diversity
- Incorporate performance recognition per Company programs for the base
- Maintain a high level of knowledge and ensure compliance in the areas of Company Policy, FOM, FAA Regulations, and Collective Bargaining Agreement
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and related experience
- 3 years of experience in airline operations or comparable experience
- 1 year of supervisory experience or equivalent
- Must be a Captain or Captain eligible by the time of applying for the role
- Airline Transport Pilot license
- Ability to meet the requirements of FAR 119.67 for Chief Pilot
- Strong work ethic, reliable, self-motivated with a positive attitude
- Strong business acumen and experience working with all levels of an organization
- Very strong analytical, interpretive, and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on communication and problem resolution
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, including the charting, trending, and presenting of complex data
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Chief Pilot or in a similar leadership role
- Knowledge of FAA regulations and industry standards
- Experience with collective bargaining agreements and labor relations
- Strong understanding of airline operations and management principles

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
We offer a competitive total compensation package, which includes a salary range of $150,000 - $205,000 per year, depending on experience. We also offer a range of benefits, including:
