About the Role: In-Home and Online Test Prep Tutor
As an In-Home and Online Test Prep Tutor with StudyPoint, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the academic journey of your students. Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and Tutor: Utilize our proven curriculum to deliver personalized SAT and ACT prep sessions to students in their homes and online, ensuring they achieve their academic goals.
- Customize Learning Plans: Tailor your teaching approach to meet the unique needs and learning styles of each student, maximizing their potential for success.
- Communicate Effectively: Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues through regular updates, feedback, and open communication.
- Create a Positive Learning Environment: Ensure that each tutoring session is engaging, supportive, and conducive to learning, whether in-person or online.
- Stay Organized and Adaptable: Manage your schedule, service area, and student assignments with flexibility and professionalism, adapting to the evolving needs of your students and the company.
Essential Qualifications:
- Academic Background: Hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, with a strong academic record and a minimum of 2 years of teaching and/or tutoring experience.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Demonstrate confidence and proficiency in tutoring all sections of the SAT and ACT, including both verbal and math sections (Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and some Trigonometry).
- Flexibility and Reliability: Be willing and able to tutor both in-person and online, with reliable car access to travel to students' homes within your designated service area.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Online Tutoring Platforms: Familiarity with interactive online tutoring tools and software, with the ability to leverage technology to enhance the learning experience.
- Knowledge of Curriculum Development: Understanding of curriculum design principles and the ability to contribute to the development of educational materials.
- Leadership or Mentorship Experience: Previous experience in leadership or mentorship roles, with a proven track record of guiding and supporting others.
