Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced and results-driven Regional Account Executive to join our team. As a Regional Account Executive, you will be responsible for advancing Walgreens' specialty pharmacy services to designated healthcare providers, including doctors, nurses, case managers, and social workers within complex disease states such as Oncology, Organ Transplant, and Fertility, and Respiratory (such as Cystic Fibrosis, Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, and Pulmonary Hypertension). You will identify and develop strategic relationships with key stakeholders within healthcare systems and organizations, and work collaboratively with internal and external partners to drive business growth and expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business plan that achieves and exceeds quarterly sales targets, with a deep understanding of the complex disease state markets and future trends and opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within healthcare systems and organizations, including physicians, nurses, case managers, and social workers.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop and implement strategies that meet division and organizational objectives.
- Provide clinical program support to ensure accounts are properly set up and maintained.
- Develop and present clinical program services to accounts, and participate in and present at external client meetings and internal meetings with other organization capabilities as needed to support business growth.
- Identify and develop opportunities to grow business, and create associations with coalition partners outside the organization to increase business.
- Lead cross-functional teams without direct authority, and coach and train new Account Administrators under the direction of the Regional Sales Director.
- Use assets within Walgreens and AllianceRx Walgreens Prime, including Retail Operations, Community Pharmacy, Central Fill, Sales Initiatives, Marketing, senior management, clinical staff, and other capabilities to aid in addressing client issues and growing our local business.
- Participate and lead special projects, and assist Regional Sales Director in recruiting and onboarding new members of the team.
Essential Qualifications
We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual with a strong background in sales and business development, particularly in the healthcare industry. The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business, healthcare, or pharmacy.
- At least 3 years of experience in sales and business development, with a focus on complex disease states and healthcare systems.
- Proven track record of success in driving business growth and expansion, with a strong understanding of the complex disease state markets and future trends and opportunities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within healthcare systems and organizations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and develop opportunities to grow business.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and partnership-building.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other business software.
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time, with occasional overnight stays.
Preferred Qualifications
We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual with a strong background in sales and business development, particularly in the healthcare industry. The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working in a clinical setting or managed care environment, with a focus on complex disease states and healthcare systems.
- Experience working with transplant centers and reference sources in a high-touch sales/service model.
- Experience working with oncology, fertility, and MS practices and treatments, with a focus on purchase and bill practices, reimbursement, and charging issues.
- Experience working with specialty pulmonary disease states, such as Cystic Fibrosis, Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, or Pulmonary Hypertension, with a focus on transplant centers and reference sources in a high-touch sales/service model.
