About the position
A well-established insurance organization is seeking a skilled Casualty Claims Specialist to join their team. This position is responsible for managing a moderate to complex caseload, including investigating, evaluating, drafting coverage position letters, negotiating, and settling losses. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general and professional liability claims handling and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
• Manage, investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and adjust assigned claims in accordance with company guidelines and authority levels.
• Ensure adequacy of reserves and recommend reserve adjustments as needed.
• Draft coverage position letters and other necessary correspondence.
• Monitor the work of outside investigators and perform field investigations as assigned.
• Maintain detailed and accurate claim documentation in the agency management software.
Requirements
• 2–3+ years of experience handling general liability and professional liability claims.
• Strong knowledge of coverage analysis, liability assessment, and complex claims handling procedures.
• Ability to manage complex cases efficiently in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Nice-to-haves
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
