Join Our Board of Directors — NeighborWorks Home Partners
Make homeownership possible for Minnesota families.
NeighborWorks Home Partners (NWHP) is a full-service Homeownership Center that helps families buy, fix, and keep their homes here in the Twin Cities and throughout the State of Minnesota. Our goal is to make homeownership accessible and sustainable for everyone. Over the last year alone, we worked with over 1,640 families and, through our programs, helped over 540 families achieve their dream of homeownership and over 45 families maintain this dream. This work resulted in over $197,000,000 of investment directly into our collective community.
About the Board
The Board of Directors provides strategic and fiduciary oversight to ensure NWHP is well-governed, financially sound, and mission-driven. Board members work alongside staff leadership to set policy, monitor performance, and equip the Executive Director with the resources to serve our community effectively.
What You'll Do
• Attend and actively participate in board and committee meetings
• Serve on at least one standing committee
• Stay informed about NWHP's mission, services, and strategic direction
• Fulfill fiduciary duties, including reviewing financial statements, budgets, and audits
• Participate in oversight of the Executive Director
• Champion NWHP publicly — raising awareness and inviting others into the work
• Review and approve the annual budget and strategic organizational goals
• Make a personal financial contribution and support fundraising efforts
Who We're Looking For
You don't need a housing background — you need a commitment to equitable homeownership and the leadership experience to help guide a thriving organization. Strong candidates bring:
• Alignment with NWHP's mission and values
• Professional expertise or community connections that strengthen the Board
• Demonstrated leadership and willingness to serve as a public ambassador for the organization
• Comfort with governance responsibilities
• At this time, we are explicitly looking for potential Board members with professional experience in the finance/accounting or legal fields. CPA not required but strongly encouraged.
Why Join?
This is a meaningful opportunity to shape an organization that invests in our communities through supporting families to build stability through homeownership. If you're ready to lead with purpose, we'd love to hear from you!
