As a key member of our athletic program, you will play a vital role in shaping the skills and character of our student-athletes. As an Assistant Girls Basketball Coach, you will be responsible for assisting the head coach in designing and implementing the athletic program, providing supervision and guidance to students, and serving as a positive role model. You will also be expected to upgrade your knowledge and skills through coaching clinics, observations, and consultations, ensuring you stay at the forefront of coaching excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the head coach in designing and implementing the athletic program
- Provide supervision and guidance to students during practices, games, and team events
- Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating character traits such as trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance player skills and performance
- Maintain accurate records, including team statistics and player performance data
- Collaborate with the head coach to determine game strategy and provide input on player development
- Attend staff meetings, scouting assignments, and other events as required
Requirements:
- Previous coaching experience in girls' basketball (desired)
- Knowledge and background in the sport of basketball
- High moral character, integrity, and excellent communication skills
- Ability to organize, supervise, and give direction to a sports team/program
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development
- PA Coaching Certifications (or willingness to obtain)
- Clearances, including PA Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse History, and Federal Criminal History (or willingness to obtain)
