Entry-Level Xero Bookkeeper with Tech Integration Acumen - MATAX - Michigan - work from home job Company: MATAX Job description: Position Overview: We are seeking an entry-level Xero Bookkeeper with a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and excellent technical integration skills. The ideal candidate should possess a passion for technology, exceptional time-management abilities, and effective communication skills. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in bookkeeping while working with cutting-edge technology and integrating it into accounting processes. This is a fully remote position. Stable, High-Speed internet is required. All candidates must be located, and authorized to work, in the U.S. Responsibilities: * Bookkeeping: Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including data entry, reconciliations, invoicing, and accounts payable and receivable management. • Xero Expertise: Utilize Xero accounting software proficiently to handle various bookkeeping functions, generate financial reports, and ensure accurate financial data recording. • Tech Integration: Implement and manage technological solutions to streamline bookkeeping processes, integrate third-party apps and systems with Xero, and optimize efficiency. • Financial Data Analysis: Assist in analyzing financial data and generating reports, ensuring accuracy, and providing meaningful insights to management. • Time Management: Prioritize and manage bookkeeping tasks efficiently to meet deadlines, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records. • Communication: Collaborate with clients, team members, and management to gather required information, provide updates on bookkeeping progress, and address any issues or concerns promptly and professionally. • Compliance: Maintain knowledge of relevant accounting regulations and standards, ensuring compliance in all bookkeeping activities. • Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and efficiency enhancement within the bookkeeping function. • Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized records of financial transactions, supporting documentation, and other relevant information. Qualifications: * Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications or qualifications in bookkeeping and Xero are a plus. • Experience: Entry-level position, but prior experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or related roles is desirable. • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using Xero accounting software is essential. Familiarity with other accounting software, such as QuickBooks, is beneficial. Strong Microsoft Excel, Gsuite skills and a general aptitude for learning new technologies are required. • Tech Integration: Experience in integrating third-party apps, automation tools, or other software solutions with accounting platforms is highly desirable. • Time Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines. • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey complex financial information to clients and team members. Video communications are an integral component of this role. • Attention to Detail: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous eye for detail and accuracy in financial data recording and analysis. • Adaptability: Ability to quickly learn new technologies, adapt to changes in software and accounting regulations, and work effectively in a dynamic environment. • Ethical Conduct: Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and ethical standards of bookkeeping and financial data management.
