Access Specialist II (EMT, LPN, Paramedic) REMOTE

About the position Responsibilities • Perform initial admission screening and acceptance using approved clinical criteria. • Work in collaboration with multiple departments within the hospital. • Facilitate relationships with facilities, physicians, and nursing staff. • Coordinate all components related to the admission/transfer or consult of patients. • Systematic processing of patient acuity and clinical decision making. • Document and prioritize patient information for accepting healthcare workers. • Assign Transfer Priority Level for triage/transport of patients. • Maintain Transfer Center data collection and provide feedback to referring facilities. • Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development and patient care. • Educate nurses, physicians, and ancillary staff on admission/transfer issues. • Act as a liaison between physicians, patients, families, and hospital staff. • Coordinate with Bed/Capacity Coordinator for timely transfer and bed assignment. • Adhere to established protocol, procedure, and standard of care. Requirements • Graduate of an accredited school/college and holds applicable current licensure in state of residence (LPN, Paramedic, EMT). • Three years of related clinical experience in an acute care setting (ED or Critical Care Preferred). • Ability to communicate effectively in oral, written, and electronic formats. • Must be able to multitask by attentively listening and simultaneously typing 38-40 wpm. • Must meet Internet speed requirements: Upload 50 or more; Download 100 or more.
